YMCA of Southwestern NC is seeking a dedicated Lifeguard for a part-time position at the Sampson County YMCA. You will supervise pool activities, enforce safety rules, and respond quickly to emergencies while delivering excellent customer service to members and guests.

The role emphasizes strong swimming, CPR/First Aid certification, and a friendly, helpful demeanor to ensure a safe and enjoyable aquatic environment for all participants.

Qualifications

• Certified Lifeguard: current lifeguard certification required.
• CPR and First Aid certification: essential for emergencies.
• Strong swimming ability with comfort around water.
• Friendly and approachable to ensure safe and enjoyable experience.

Responsibilities

• Rescue Ready: monitor swimmers and respond immediately when needed.
• Monitor Aquatic Areas: ensure safety across pools and surrounding areas.
• Emergency Response: perform water rescues, CPR, and first aid as required.
• Enforce Safety Rules: uphold facility rules to prevent unsafe behavior.
• First Aid Guru: administer basic first aid and CPR as trained.
• Customer Service Pro: greet guests and assist with needs for a positive experience.
• Swim Instructor (Bonus Fun & Pay!): teach swimming when needed.
• Team Player: collaborate with staff to ensure safety and satisfaction.
• Conduct Safety Checks: inspect equipment and water conditions.
• Assist with Facility Maintenance: keep pool area clean and presentable.
• Record Keeping: log attendance, water quality, and incidents.
• Continuous Training: participate in regular safety training.
