The YMCA in Wilmington, NC is seeking a part-time Lifeguard to supervise pools, enforce safety rules, and respond to emergencies with CPR/First Aid skills. You will greet guests, assist with inquiries, and may teach basic swimming techniques to participants at the aquatics center.

Qualifications

• Certified Lifeguard required.
• CPR and First Aid certifications required.
• Strong swimming ability and water safety awareness expected.
• Positive, customer-friendly attitude and teamwork essential.

Responsibilities

• Monitor pools and aquatic areas to prevent incidents.
• Rescue swimmers and perform water rescues when needed.
• Administer CPR and first aid during emergencies.
• Enforce pool rules and ensure a safe environment for all guests.
• Greet guests, answer questions and assist with inquiries at the facility.
• Potentially teach basic swimming techniques to kids and adults.
• Conduct safety checks on rescue equipment and pool facilities.
• Assist with facility maintenance and pool area upkeep.
• Maintain records of incidents, attendance, and water quality.
• Participate in regular safety training and drills.
