Qualifications

  • Associate's degree required for Technician I; Bachelor's degree required for Technician II.
  • 1–2 years of related environmental technician or water resources experience preferred for Tech I.
  • Three years of related experience required for Tech II.
  • DNR Wastewater Operator in Training (OIT) certification required within 24 months (Tech I) or possessed (Tech II).
  • Other combinations of training/experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, evaluate, prevent, and control discharges that can contaminate water resources.
  • Serve as the point of contact between the City and commercial users; secondary contact for significant industrial users for pretreatment concerns.
