Gewalt Hamilton Associates in Vernon Hills, IL is seeking an Engineering Technician II to support Public Works Operations. You will work on sewer and water projects, perform calculations, prepare reports, and assist with EPA documentation.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years of public works or field related experience.
• Must be capable of driving/operating a motor vehicle for company business and hold a valid Illinois Driver’s License.
• Class C Water Operator License required.
• Read, interpret, and assist in the development of technical documents and calculations.
• Able to travel up to 30% and work outdoors in varied conditions.

Responsibilities

• Read, interpret, organize, and assist in the creation of technical documents and calculations.
• Respond to emergency water breaks, sewer back-ups, lift station problems, hydrant leaks, and other system malfunctions.
• Review field and record information for EPA documentation and monthly reports.
• Responsible Operator in Charge for water distribution systems in the region.
• Maintain and improve Water Operator Licensure.
• Travel up to 30% as needed.
• Work evenings and weekends.
• Read water meters and flush fire hydrants.
• Collect manhole data using visual and measuring devices.
