Dewberry's Denver, CO office seeks an Entry-Level Water Resources Engineer to join the Resilience Solutions Group. You will help advance floodplain analysis, flood risk assessment, and hydraulic modeling alongside a multidisciplinary team of engineers, scientists, planners, and programmers.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in hydraulic and water resources engineering and quantitative analysis.
• Eager to learn, works well in a team, applies engineering principles to solve water resources challenges.
• BS or MS in Civil Eng, Water Resources Eng, Hydraulic Eng, or related field.
• 0-3 years of relevant experience.
• Fundamental understanding of open-channel hydraulics, hydrology, and water resources.
• Familiarity with GIS software (ArcGIS Pro or QGIS).
• Experience analyzing engineering, hydrologic, geospatial, or environmental data.
• Engineer-in-Training certification or ability to obtain within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Support hydraulic and water resources projects for municipal, state, and federal clients.
• Develop and apply 1D and 2D hydraulic models of rivers, floodplains, bridges, and culverts.
• Perform hydraulic and flood risk analyses under guidance of senior engineers.
• Assist with floodplain mapping, flood hazard evaluations, and water resources studies.
• Use GIS and hydraulic modeling software to support analyses and deliverables.
• Collaborate with engineers, scientists, planners, and other technical specialists on multidisciplinary projects.
• Participate in client meetings, project discussions, and field investigations as needed.
