Job summary

HDR, Inc. is seeking an energetic engineering student intern to support our Water Business Group in Minnesota. You will assist engineers with hydrology modeling, data collection, and design tasks.

This part-time internship emphasizes hands-on learning, collaboration with project teams, and exposure to AutoCAD, ArcGIS, and hydraulic modeling tools. Strong academic performance is preferred.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program.
• GPA 3.0+.
• Strong attention to detail and communication skills.
• Experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation, ArcGIS, or similar software.
• Interest in water resources engineering.

Responsibilities

• Assist project engineers in applying design engineering and modeling techniques for water resource projects.
• Contribute to hydraulics and hydrology modeling, data collection, assimilation, and presentations.
• Support projects including flood control, river design, stream grade control structures, dike systems, levees, stream channel restoration/rehabilitation, wetland and lake restoration, watershed issues and non-point source loading and point source design.
• Develop construction documents for water resources and stormwater projects.
• Produce design calculations, draft technical reports and perform water resources studies.
• Perform limited field work as required by current project load.
• Perform other duties as needed.
