Job summary

The DOWL Water & Wastewater Intern will assist on a variety of projects under the guidance of engineers, applying GIS to determine watershed characteristics and preparing map exhibits.

The internship emphasizes water resources passion, mentorship, and hands-on experience in hydrologic and hydraulic analyses using HY-8, HEC-RAS, and HEC-HMS, plus field support and coordination with design teams.

Qualifications

• One to two years of college-level coursework toward a civil engineering degree.
• Focus on water resources preferred.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with field investigations and design inspections.
• Perform engineering calculations for designs.
• Tabulate bid items and estimate construction costs.
• Run hydrologic and hydraulic analyses (HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, HY-8).
• Provide support to other engineering groups.
