Job summary

Halff Associates, Inc. in Richardson, TX, invites a Civil Engineer Intern to support the Water Resources team with drainage, stormwater analysis and design, and hydrology modeling. The role provides hands-on design experience within water resources planning and related engineering tasks.

The internship runs June 7, 2027 through August 13, 2027. Interns are paid hourly and work full-time (40 hours/week), typically 8a-5p, Monday through Friday.

Qualifications

• Pursuing Bachelor's or Master's in Civil Engineering or ABET-accredited equivalent.
• Experience with HEC-RAS and HEC-HMS is preferred, but not required.
• Excellent communication and strong team-building abilities.
• Self-motivated with solid organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Design civil projects under the supervision of a Professional Engineer.
• Assist in drainage and stormwater analysis and design.
• Assist in preparing plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Perform drafting CAD work.
• Conduct calculations and analysis for design projects.
• Assist with permit applications and regulatory documents.
• Coordinate with surveyors, architects, and contractors.
• Attend client and regulatory meetings.
