Job summary

Halff Associates, Inc. is seeking a Civil Engineer Intern for the Water Resources team in Houston, TX. The internship focuses on drainage and stormwater analysis, water resources design, and hydrology/hydraulic modeling under the supervision of a Professional Engineer.

The internship runs June 7, 2027 through August 13, 2027, is paid hourly, and requires full-time hours (40 per week). Housing is not provided by Halff.

Qualifications

• Pursuing Bachelor's or Master's in Civil Engineering or ABET accredited equivalent.
• Experience with HEC-RAS and HEC-HMS is preferred, however not required.
• Great communication skills and solid team-building ability.
• Self-motivated with strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Design civil engineering projects under the supervision of a Professional Engineer.
• Assist in drainage and stormwater analysis and design.
• Help prepare plans, specs, and cost estimates for Water Resources projects.
• Perform drafting CAD work.
• Conduct calculations and analysis for design projects.
• Assist in permit applications and regulatory documents.
• Coordinate with surveyors, architects, and contractors.
• Attend meetings with clients and regulatory agencies.
