Job summary

Halff Associates, Inc. seeks an Intern for our Water Resources team in Little Rock, AR. The Civil Engineering Intern will assist with drainage and stormwater analysis and design, support water resources planning, hydrology and hydraulic modeling, and other engineering tasks as needed.

The internship runs June 7, 2027 to August 13, 2027. Interns are paid hourly and work full-time (40 hours/week), typically 8a-5p Monday through Friday. Halff does not provide housing for internships.

Qualifications

• Pursuing Bachelor's or Master's in Civil Engineering or ABET-accredited equivalent Engineering degree.
• Experience with HEC-RAS and HEC-HMS is preferred, but not required.
• Strong communication, teamwork and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Design civil engineering projects under the supervision of a Professional Engineer.
• Assist in drainage and stormwater analysis and design.
• Prepare plans, specifications and cost estimates for Water Resources projects.
• Perform drafting CAD work.
• Carry out calculations and analyses for design projects.
• Assist in permit applications and regulatory documents.
• Coordinate with surveyors, architects and contractors.
• Attend client and regulatory meetings.
