Job summary

Halff seeks a Civil Engineer Intern for our Water Resources team in Houston, TX. You will assist with drainage and stormwater analysis, design, and water resources planning under supervision.

Responsibilities include CAD drafting, preparing plans and cost estimates, and coordinating with surveyors and contractors. Pursuing a Civil Engineering degree (ABET-equivalent) with strong communication and organization skills is expected.

Qualifications

• Pursuing Bachelor’s or Master’s in Civil Engineering or ABET accredited equivalent Engineering degree
• Experience with HEC-RAS and HEC-HMS preferred, however not required
• Great communication skills and ability to work in a team
• Self-motivated and organized

Responsibilities

• Design civil engineering projects under supervision of a Professional Engineer
• Assist in drainage and stormwater analysis and design
• Assist in preparation of plans, specs, and cost estimates for Water Resources projects
• Perform drafting CAD work
• Perform calculations and analysis for design projects
• Assist in permit applications and regulatory documents
• Coordinate with team members, including surveyors, architects, and contractors
• Attend meetings with clients and regulatory agencies
