Job summary

Halff in Richardson, TX is seeking a Civil Engineer Intern – Water Resources to support drainage and stormwater analysis and design on the Water Resources team. The internship runs June 7 to August 13, 2027, and is a full-time 40-hour-per-week position.

You will assist in water resources design, hydrology and hydraulic modeling, drafting CAD work, and preparing plans, specs and cost estimates under the supervision of a Professional Engineer.

Qualifications

• Pursuing Bachelor’s or Master’s in Civil Engineering or ABET accredited equivalent.
• Experience with HEC-RAS and HEC-HMS is preferred, however not required.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Self-motivation and strong organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

• Design civil engineering projects under the supervision of a Professional Engineer.
• Assist with drainage and stormwater analysis and design.
• Prepare plans, specifications, and cost estimates for Water Resources projects.
• Perform drafting CAD work.
• Conduct calculations and analysis for design projects.
• Assist with permit applications and regulatory documents.
• Coordinate with team members, surveyors, architects, and contractors.
• Attend client and regulatory agency meetings.
