Job summary

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson is seeking a Water Resources Project Engineer to join our Longview/ Tyler, TX offices. The role focuses on drainage, stormwater, floodplain, and transportation projects, with mentorship from senior leaders to develop technical and project-delivery skills.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
5–10 years of water resources experience.
Texas Professional Engineer license or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
Experience with TxDOT drainage design for TxDOT or other DOT projects.
Proficient in discipline-specific design software and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

Plan, analyze, and design drainage, stormwater, floodplain, and transportation projects.
Coordinate with project managers and leaders to deliver high-quality designs on schedule.
Develop construction cost estimates and prepare contract plans and specs.
Attend client meetings and coordinate with internal teams to meet deadlines and quality standards.
Mentor junior staff and support sub-consultants and in-house disciplines.
