Job summary

Career Collective is seeking an experienced Water Resources — Environmental Engineer to work on diverse water resources, stormwater, and environmental projects. You will support municipalities and private developments through design, analysis, permitting, and approvals, leveraging stormwater, hydrology, and land development expertise.

The ideal candidate holds a PE license and has hands-on experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, WinSLAMM, and HydroCAD, with strong project management and communication

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in civil, water resources, or environmental engineering.
• Current PE license in Wisconsin or Illinois.
• Experience with stormwater management and environmental permitting.
• Strong knowledge of stormwater codes and land development requirements.

Responsibilities

• Design drainage systems and stormwater facilities for municipalities and private developments.
• Assess impacts to wetlands, waterways, floodplains, and environmental corridors.
• Analyze flood risks and conveyance systems; evaluate sediment transport.
• Develop stormwater models for quantity and quality analyses.
• Prepare hydrologic and hydraulic models for waterways.
• Develop and assemble stormwater management plans.
• Prepare environmental and stormwater permits for state agencies and USACE.
• Support municipal reviews and approvals; ensure ordinance compliance.
• Coordinate with clients, municipalities, regulatory agencies, and project teams.
• Manage multiple projects, schedules, and deliverables.

Summary; Our team is looking for an experienced Water Resources — Environmental Engineer to work on a variety of water resources, stormwater, and environmental engineering projects. This position will support municipalities and private developments through the design, analysis, permitting, and approval of water resources and environmental projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in stormwater management, hydrology and hydraulics, environmental permitting, and land development, along with strong project management and communication skills.

What You’ll Do

• Design drainage systems and stormwater management facilities for municipalities and private developments.
• Assess development impacts to wetlands, waterways, floodplains, and environmental corridors.
• Analyze flood risks, conveyance systems, and sediment transport.
• Develop stormwater models for water quantity and quality analysis.
• Prepare hydrologic and hydraulic models for waterways.
• Develop and assemble stormwater management plans.
• Prepare environmental and stormwater permits for state agencies and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
• Support municipal review and approval processes.
• Review developer-based improvement projects for ordinance compliance.
• Conduct engineering studies and prepare reports with findings and recommended solutions.
• Coordinate with clients, municipalities, regulatory agencies, and internal project teams.
• Manage multiple projects, schedules, and deliverables.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in civil, water resources, or environmental engineering.
• Current Professional Engineer (PE) license in Wisconsin or Illinois.
• Experience with stormwater management and environmental-related projects.
• Strong understanding of state and local stormwater management codes and requirements.
• Experience with land development, stormwater management, and environmental permitting.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Experience with WinSLAMM and HydroCAD.
• Knowledge of hydrology and hydraulic modeling.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a project team.
