Job summary

JT Engineering in Wisconsin seeks a Water Resources Project Engineer to lead stormwater design and water resource solutions across municipal, transportation, and site development projects. You will perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling using HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWMM, and AutoCAD Civil 3D, collaborating with teams to deliver compliant, sustainable designs.

Qualifications

• BSCE with emphasis on Water Resources or related field
• 5+ years in water resources engineering focusing on stormwater
• PE license or ability to obtain within 12 months
• Proficiency with hydrologic/hydraulic modeling tools (HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWMM)
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and GIS
• Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal water regulations
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with watershed planning, floodplain management, green infrastructure, LID, and SWPPP preferred
• ENV SP or other sustainability certifications a plus
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Authorized to work permanently in the United States
• Willingness to travel occasionally for work or professional development

Responsibilities

• Design and develop stormwater management systems with regulatory compliance
• Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling to assess water flow and drainage capacity
• Collaborate with project teams to integrate water resource solutions into transportation and site development
• Prepare and review environmental reports, permits, and impact assessments
• Lead and manage water resource projects including scheduling and budgeting
• Serve as primary client contact and provide technical leadership
• Conduct site inspections and oversee construction to meet design specs
• Stay updated on industry trends and technologies
• Mentor junior engineers and staff
• Adhere to internal Quality Control processes
