Job summary

JT Engineering, Inc. is seeking a Water Resources Project Engineer to lead stormwater design and hydrologic/hydraulic modeling for municipal, transportation, and site development projects across Wisconsin.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience, a BSCE in Civil Engineering, and a PE license (or ability to obtain within 12 months). Proficiency in HEC-RAS/HEC-HMS/SWMM, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and GIS is required. Travel and leadership responsibilities included.

Qualifications

• BSCE from an accredited university with emphasis on Water Resources or related field
• 5+ years in water resources engineering with emphasis on stormwater management
• PE license or ability to obtain within 12 months
• Proficiency in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling (HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWMM)
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and GIS software
• Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal water regulations

Responsibilities

• Design and develop stormwater management systems meeting regulatory requirements
• Model hydrology/hydraulics to assess flow, flood risk, and drainage capacity using HEC-RAS, HydroCAD, SWMM, and AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Collaborate with project teams to integrate water resources into transportation and site development
• Prepare and review environmental reports, permits, and impact assessments
• Lead water resource projects including scheduling, budgeting, and team coordination
• Serve as primary client contact and support proposal development
• Conduct site inspections and oversee construction to ensure design conformance
• Stay updated on industry trends and technologies; apply innovative solutions
• Mentor junior engineers and staff in water resource engineering
• Adhere to internal QC processes for accuracy and compliance
