Career Collective is seeking an experienced Municipal Engineer to support a variety of municipal engineering and public improvement projects. This role will work directly with local municipalities, developers, contractors, and project teams from design through completion.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil/municipal engineering, public infrastructure, and project management, along with effective communication with clients and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of civil or municipal engineering experience.
• Active PE license in Wisconsin.
• Experience with land development and stormwater management.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Strong communication and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as liaison with local municipalities and attend meetings.
• Review development projects for ordinance compliance.
• Prepare public improvement plans for paving, drainage, water and sewer.
• Manage municipal and public improvement projects.
• Prepare plans, specs, and construction cost estimates.
• Perform design engineering, calculations, and drafting for complex projects.
• Conduct engineering studies and prepare reports with findings and recommended solutions.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, municipalities, and internal project teams.

Summary; Our team is looking for an experienced Municipal Engineer to support a variety of municipal engineering and public improvement projects. This position will work directly with local municipalities, developers, contractors, and project teams while managing projects from design through completion.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil/municipal engineering, public infrastructure, and project management, along with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders.

What You’ll Do

• Serve as a liaison with local municipalities and attend municipal meetings as needed.


• Review developer-based improvement projects for ordinance compliance.


• Prepare public improvement plans for paving, drainage, sanitary sewer, watermain, and storm sewer projects.


• Serve as project manager for a variety of municipal and public improvement projects.


• Prepare plans, specifications, and construction cost estimates.


• Perform design engineering, calculations, and drafting for complex projects.


• Conduct engineering studies and prepare reports with findings and recommended solutions.


• Coordinate with clients, contractors, municipalities, and internal project teams throughout the project lifecycle.


• Help manage multiple projects, schedules, budgets, and deliverables.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.


• Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil or municipal engineering.


• Current Professional Engineer (PE) license in Wisconsin.


• Experience working with municipal or public-sector clients.


• Experience with land development and stormwater management.


• Knowledge of public works contracting and municipal infrastructure.


• Experience with water distribution and sanitary sewer collection systems.
  
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D.


• Experience with WinSLAMM and hydrology/hydraulic software is preferred.


• Strong organizational and project management skills.


• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.


• Strong written and verbal communication skills.


• Comfortable communicating and presenting in public settings.


• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a project team.
