Job summary

HNTB is seeking a Water Resources Department Manager to lead the Central States Municipal Group, delivering water resources projects for municipal, state, and federal clients. You will oversee budget, staff development, and project delivery while aligning with the firm's strategic plans and SSA processes.

The role emphasizes technical excellence, client relationships, and cross-functional leadership, with responsibility for recruiting and mentoring a growing team in a collaborative environment

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 10 years of practical experience, including 2 years of supervisory experience.
• Master’s degree in Engineering preferred; professional engineering certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develops, monitors and manages the department operating budget.
• Leads department staff and coordinates staffing across projects.
• Supports strategic plans and the SSA process on project pursuits.
• Oversees contracting (SCA) and project delivery (SDA) activities.
• Supports marketing and client development, and staff mentoring.
• Recruits, hires and retains department staff; plans performance reviews.
• Manages project scope, schedule, budget and quality for multiple projects.
• Leads teams of 15–20 or more employees.
