Placement in this classification is temporary, and permanent employment is not guaranteed.

The District may not employ an Intern for more than six (6) months full time (21-30 hours per week), or if working on a part-time schedule (20 hours or less per week), more than 1,000 hours or 125 days in a fiscal year. Subject to these fiscal year time limits, intern work assignments are limited to a maximum of 12 months.

Typical tasks will include working with large databases, performing data analysis in excel, collecting samples in the field or laboratory and subsequent analysis with handheld or benchtop instruments, tracking lab samples, developing maps, and writing reports or procedures. Interns will work both in the office and in the field and must have a valid California driver's license.
