Job summary

CTwater seeks a Water Quality Technician II to support the company’s water quality program through fieldwork, sampling, data analysis, and regulatory compliance. You will independently conduct sampling, maintain records, and work with cross-functional teams to resolve water quality issues.

The role demands strong communication, technical proficiency, and the ability to respond to routine and some non-routine emergencies, including after-hours work when required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 2+ years of relevant experience.
• B.S. in a relevant field is preferred.
• Valid Driver’s License with acceptable MVR.
• License: Groundwater or Distribution Water Operator License (A Class/C license preferred).
• License: Backflow Prevention Assembly Tester (BPAT) preferred.
• CSI License preferred.
• Experience in science/engineering environment preferred.
• Strong data analysis and reporting capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Analyze water quality data to identify deficiencies and determine resolutions.
• Execute sampling programs and manage lab results.
• Perform backflow testing and maintain records of inspections.
• Conduct water main flushing to maintain quality and chlorine residuals.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, and Distribution teams.
• Draft technical reports on health concerns and treatment changes.
• Develop customer-facing communications and reports.
• Mentor and train junior staff and respond to emergencies when needed.
