Job summary

The Texas Water Company is seeking a Water Quality Technician II to support its water quality program through hands-on fieldwork and data analysis. You will conduct sampling, backflow prevention, flushing, and regulatory compliance activities while maintaining accurate records and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

The role requires strong communication, technical skills, and the ability to respond to both routine and urgent issues, including after-hours shifts as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and/or 2+ years of relevant professional experience.
• B.S. in a relevant field is preferred.
• Valid Driver’s License with acceptable Motor Vehicle Record.
• Holds valid operator licenses or certifications as applicable to water quality work.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes water quality data to identify deficiencies and develop recommendations.
• Executes routine and special sampling programs and manages lab results.
• Conducts backflow testing and maintains records of inspections and certifications.
• Performs water main flushing to maintain quality and chlorine residuals.
• Collaborates with Engineering, Operations, and Distribution teams to resolve issues.
• Develops technical reports on water quality topics for stakeholders.
• Keeps customers informed and prepares consumer-facing materials.
