Job summary

Village of Wellington’s Utility Regulatory Compliance Division seeks a senior technician to perform field sampling and laboratory duties. The role requires knowledge of DEP SOPs and compliance with water and wastewater standards.

You will calibrate and maintain field instruments, document results, and assist in reporting to regulatory agencies. Strong attention to detail and ability to work under regulatory guidelines are essential.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in physical or natural science and 4 semester hours of microbiology.
• 1 year of laboratory experience with sampling, analysis, and regulatory reporting.
• Equivalent education, certification, training, or experience accepted.

Responsibilities

• Performs field testing and sampling of raw, potable, and waste water per DEP SOPs.
• Maintains documentation, records, and logbooks for quality control and compliance.
• Assists in maintaining field and laboratory equipment in good working order.
• Prepares reports and graphs for management and regulatory agencies.
• Interacts with customers and coordinates routine sampling with other teams.
• Contributes to laboratory bacteriological testing as needed.
• Follows all safety protocols and participates in after-hours emergency calls.
