Job summary

TexasWater Utilities is hiring a Field Technician I to perform routine checks and operate water and wastewater systems in Texas. You will ensure compliance with federal, state and local rules, assist in operations, maintenance and customer service, and pursue required certifications within the designated timeframe.

The role involves routine testing, chemical adjustments, and supporting repairs and new installations across facilities.

Qualifications

  • HS diploma or GED required.
  • TX TCEQ licenses must be obtained within the specified period.
  • Driver's license required.
  • 1 year of related water/wastewater ops experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operates and maintains water/wastewater treatment facilities per guidelines.
  • Performs daily analyses of effluent samples and adjusts operations to meet permit limits.
  • Adjusts chemical treatment to ensure water quality standards are met.
  • Assists with line repairs, new installations, and other work as directed.
  • Inspects pumps, motors, valves, and plant equipment; troubleshoots issues.
  • Responds to customer service calls and updates work orders with documentation.
  • Performs routine tests on facilities and collects/analyzes readings.
  • Documents plant performance including daily flow and chemical usage.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
