Job summary

Responsibilities include management within the Capital Improvement Plan, budgeting, planning and ensuring compliance with codes and permits.

Roles include reviewing plans, developing bid documents, coordinating engineers and contractors, tracking progress, and preparing reports.

Qualifications

• Experience managing complex water and sanitary sewer utility projects.
• Ability to review plans, specifications and cost estimates.
• Ability to prepare bid documents, contracts and purchase orders.
• Ability to coordinate with other county departments and consultants.
• Professional Engineer license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Independently manages and guides complex projects within CIP scope.
• Reviews construction plans, specs, cost estimates and project documents.
• Prepares bid documents, requests for proposals, contracts and purchase orders; maintains project records.
• Tracks budget; approves invoices; prepares project reports.
• Coordinates with county departments and external engineers/contractors.
• Performs inspection and monitoring of progress; reports status.
• Prepares plans and specifications; coordinates with consultants and crews.
• Evaluates RFIs and change orders; ensures permits and inspections are on schedule.
• Performs duties of project engineer on construction projects.
• Assists in development, planning, design, permitting, bidding and construction of multiple projects.
• Attends meetings to advance projects.
