Under the supervision of Lead Water Plant Operators, Shift Supervisors, or Plant Supervisors, the Water Plant Operator II manages the operation, maintenance, and monitoring of water treatment facilities, including raw water intake, headworks, basins, filtration, SCADA, and pump stations. The role ensures asset condition, water quality, and safety standards are met or exceeded, performing and supervising related tasks for efficient facility operation.
Work is performed in water treatment environments, both indoors and outdoors, often involving exposure to chemicals, machinery, and environmental hazards. Physical demands include lifting, standing, walking, and working in adverse weather, confined spaces, and at heights. Candidates must pass medical and safety certifications, including respiratory protection where required.
