Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• TC EQ Class 'D' License required or obtainment planned with assignment.
• Valid Texas driver with satisfactory driving record.

Responsibilities

• Reads meters on the assigned route; route subject to change.
• Records findings such as bad meters and straight reads.
• Keeps records of meters and reports meters not accessible for readings.
• Checks meters and visible plumbing for correct installation and operation.
• Reports defects to supervisor for action.
• Ensures meter readings are consistent.
• Performs maintenance duties when not reading.
• Makes water taps and inspects equipment prior to operation.
• Responds to emergencies; on call as required.
• Makes minor repairs/adjustments to equipment.
• Ability to walk long periods under varying conditions.
• Performs other related tasks as required.
