Job summary

Qualifications

• Requires a High School Diploma or GED.
• Texas driver license is required and a T.C.E.Q. Class “D” License is required or will be obtained.
• On-route meter reading with daily public interaction.

Responsibilities

• Reads meters on the assigned route (route subject to change).
• Records all findings such as bad meters and straight connects.
• Keeps meter records and reports meters not accessible for readings.
• Checks that meters and visible plumbing are installed and functioning properly.
• Reports defects to supervisor.
• Checks consistency of meter readings.
• Performs maintenance duties when not reading.
• Makes water taps.
• Inspects equipment for safe operation prior to use.
• Responds to emergencies when required; on call.
• Makes minor repairs and adjustments to equipment.
