The City of Galveston seeks a Meter Service Technician to repair water meters and related equipment island-wide. You will read meters, install and service meters and reading devices, and respond to customer requests and emergencies to keep the water system running smoothly.

All duties require safe operation of tools, accurate record keeping, and clear communication with residents and City staff. A valid Texas driver’s license is required and TCEQ certification must be obtained within two years

Qualificações

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience in water meter operations is preferred but not required.

Responsabilidades

• Read and record water meter consumption using mobile devices and read meters manually.
• Install, repair and inspect water meters, meter pits, valves and related equipment.
• Respond to customer service requests and emergency calls as needed.
• Post notices regarding billing and customer information.
• Maintain inventory of meter-related equipment and order supplies as required.
