An established industry player is seeking a dedicated maintenance technician to perform essential repairs and preventative maintenance on water and sewer systems. This role involves operating various equipment, interacting with customers, and ensuring safety at work sites. This position performs repairs and preventative maintenance according to prescribed schedules, completes work and service orders, installs water/sewer taps, installs water mains, repairs and installs fire hydrants, repairs manholes, moves equipment and materials to and from job sites, maintains equipment, transports and operates a variety of equipment used in maintenance and repair (e.g., vac truck, dump truck, backhoe, air compressor, water tap machine, tractor with bush hog, etc.), flags traffic at work sites, locates water, sewer, and utilities, interacts with customers on water issues, repairs landscape, and grades after making repairs. The role also serves as crew leader on assigned tasks, delivers materials, assists other crews as needed, and is on call for emergencies, including backup for on-call staff. Overtime, weekend, and holiday work may be required.

This job involves medium to heavy work, requiring exertion in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, 50 pounds frequently, and 20 pounds constantly. It includes climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, and repetitive motions. Communication involves vocal interaction, and perception requires hearing and visual acuity for various tasks. Work environment includes inside and outside conditions, extreme temperatures, noise, vibration, hazards, and may require wearing protective equipment. Exposure to bloodborne pathogens is possible.
