Job summary

The NYC Department of Environmental Protection seeks an Associate Project Manager I in Arkville, NY to review wastewater and stormwater designs, perform field inspections, and help enforce regulations. You will coordinate with engineers, contractors, and agency staff, supporting FAD deliverables and public comment processes.

Applicants should have a relevant Bachelor's degree and supervisory/project management experience, with strong reporting and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, urban planning, or public administration.
• At least one year supervising project management work or equivalent experience.
• Experience coordinating with engineers, contractors, and agencies; strong report writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Review designs for subsurface sewage treatment, sewer systems, and stormwater plans for compliance.
• Conduct field inspections and witness soil testing for wastewater designs.
• Investigate violations and prepare technical reports for notices of violations.
• Provide enforcement support and attend meetings on regulatory issues.
• Attend construction meetings and interact with engineers, contractors and staff.
• Assist in development, implementation, and reporting of FAD deliverables.
• Draft comments for public review of regulations at local/state/federal levels.
