Job summary

New York City Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is hiring an Associate Project Manager I for the Source Water Protection Directorate, based in Arkville, NY. You will review designs, conduct field inspections, and support regulatory compliance for water and wastewater projects.

Responsibilities include coordination with engineers, attending meetings, and assisting in reporting under various state standards and permits.

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications as listed: 1 year supervising employees in project management.
• Education options include a bachelor’s degree with experience, or equivalent combinations leading to five years of education and experience.
• Preferred skills include proficiency with Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook, GIS, and report writing.

Responsibilities

• Review designs for subsurface sewage treatment systems, sewer networks, wastewater treatment plants and stormwater plans.
• Perform field inspections and witness soil testing for wastewater designs.
• Investigate stormwater and wastewater violations; prepare technical reports.
• Assist in enforcement and tracking of regulatory violations; attend internal meetings.
• Interact with engineers, contractors, and public staff; support project management for regulatory deliverables.
