Job summary

Jordan Valley Water Conservancy District is seeking a dependable, safety-conscious Inspector/Locator I to locate pipelines, fulfill Blue Stakes requests, and monitor construction near facilities. You will work closely with contractors, property owners, engineers, and District staff to protect infrastructure and ensure compliance with District requirements.

This full-time role requires 40 hours per week, with a rotating standby schedule and occasional overtime.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum two years of related experience.
• Valid Utah driver license.
• Utah Grade IV Water Distribution Operator certification.
• Utah Department of Transportation flagging certification.
• Forklift certification.

Responsibilities

• Fulfill Blue Stakes requests and locate pipelines using locator equipment and maps.
• Inspect utilities on District property including water, gas, fiber, and sewer lines.
• Inspect and document construction activities and utility crossings.
• Coordinate with contractors to ensure District specifications are met.
• Perform water-line flushing, pressure testing, chlorination, and bacteriological testing.
• Prepare as-built drawings, photographs, and project documentation.
• Monitor easements and rights-of-way for encroachments or threats.
• Coordinate shutdowns and notify affected customers.
• Maintain vehicles and locating equipment.
