Job summary

Black & Veatch Construction seeks an experienced on-site construction inspector to support medium to large projects, including civil works, pipelines, pumping stations, and plants. You will report to senior inspection staff and ensure safety, quality, and timely field execution while coordinating with design disciplines and project engineers.

Qualifications

• 7+ years field experience.
• All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search).
• Certifications for concrete, compaction and civil tests preferred.

Responsibilities

• Reviews schedule updates with regard to general construction logic, potential conflicts, and activities or deliveries falling behind schedule.
• Evaluates contractor proposals of remedial actions to correct schedule problems.
• Monitors and reports on progress of work; seeks assistance from professional schedulers on unusual issues.
• Provides technical interpretation of construction drawings and specification requirements in conjunction with the project or resident engineer.
• Coordinates responses with project or resident engineer and engineering disciplines; writes responses for project controls assistant.
