Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Water Infrastructure Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 in our Henderson, NV office. You will assist with drawings, specifications, and design documents for water projects, and support data collection, analyses, and routine calculations under supervision.

Earn hands-on experience with leading engineers, access mentorship, and participate in project deliverables while developing your technical and professional skills in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• No experience required if accepted into a related engineering degree program.
• Must have completed 60 hours towards civil or environmental engineering degree from an ABET-accredited program by Summer 2027.
• Basic computer skills to enter data into spreadsheets or databases; math skills to perform simple calculations; willingness to learn.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with AutoCAD or MicroStation (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation of drawings, specifications, and design documents for water infrastructure projects.
• Support engineering studies by data collection, basic analyses, and completing routine calculations using established methods.
• Assist in evaluating design alternatives and documenting findings under the guidance of experienced engineers.
• Prepare portions of technical reports, permit application materials, and project documentation for review by senior staff.
• Assist with data collection, research, and analysis related to site conditions, regulatory requirements, and project feasibility.
• Support construction-phase activities by reviewing project records, tracking progress, and assisting with document management.
• Create basic graphic presentations, exhibits, and supporting materials for project deliverables.
