Job summary

Metropolitan Water District of Southern California is seeking an Engineer at its Los Angeles headquarters to design and evaluate structural systems for water facilities. You’ll perform calculations, prepare plans, and conduct fieldwork to ensure resilient infrastructure, while leading projects and coordinating with consultants.

The ideal candidate has a BS with six years of experience or an MS with four years, plus 2D/3D FEM proficiency (SAP2000, ETABS, RISA 3D).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field with six years of relevant experience or Master’s degree with four years and two years at Associate Engineer level.
• Experience in structural analysis and design for building and non-building structures; proficiency with 2D/3D FEM tools.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review design criteria, calculations, plans, specifications, and cost estimates for water systems.
• Plan, coordinate, and oversee projects to monitor scope, quality, budget, and schedule.
• Lead site inspections, structural evaluations, and submittal reviews.
• Lead project teams and oversee external vendors and consultants.
