Job summary

The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California is seeking an Associate Engineer to manage multiple capital and O&M projects on the Colorado River Aqueduct PM Team, ensuring quality and technical integrity. You will lead project proposals, plan scoping studies, secure funding, and monitor budgets and schedules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field with four years of relevant experience, two at Assistant Engineer II level.
• Master's degree with two years of relevant experience at Assistant Engineer II level.
• Relevant experience includes capital projects management and supporting multidiscipline project teams.

Responsibilities

• Assist project teams in the day-to-day management of all Capital infrastructure project activities from planning and scoping studies to final completion.
• Obtain the project funding and authorizations through the Board letter/Board process.
• Monitor and control project scope, progress, schedules, and budgets to ensure successful project delivery.
• Collaborate across diverse internal teams incl. Conveyance & Distribution (C&D), Integrated Operations Support Services (IOPSS), Safety, Security & Protection, Treatment & Water Quality, IT, and WRM.
• Identify and coordinate environmental assessments, review environmental reports, and maintain documentation.
• Utilize Microsoft Project, Office applications, and the CIP system to track, update, and report on project metrics.
• Provide day-to-day engineering support for on-site Conveyance & Distribution staff and liaison between ES and Desert Region.
