Job summary

Mitsubishi Electric Trane HVAC US LLC in Houston or Dallas seeks a Sr. Mechanical Engineer, Water Products to support the commercial sales team with design problems and product guidance for domestic water heating solutions.

You will serve as the BU expert, assisting with design, training, and competitive analysis. The role spans collaboration with sales, service, and product development, involving creation of technical materials, white papers, and application notes.

Qualifications

• B.S degree in mechanical engineering from ABET accredited program.
• Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering, or similar discipline, preferred.
• 10+ years of HVAC or plumbing mechanical engineering or application engineering experience, specifically in space heating or domestic water heating.
• P.E license and/or LEED AP accredited professional preferred.
• Demonstrated track record of managing technical and complex products from an engineering standpoint.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; AutoCAD, energy modeling software and Revit experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Act as the subject matter expert and lead the project management process on commercial domestic water heating products.
• Provide technical and application support through development of technical materials, training, competitive analysis and design best practices for the BU and external customers.
• Provide Tier 2 support for BU sales, METUS distribution, and HVAC specification community on resolving complex challenges.
• Develop engineering and application white papers addressing domestic hot water issues for specific US regions.
• Collaborate with another Mechanical Engineer to support other METUS HVAC products as needed.
• Work with METUS Applications and Product Development teams to create technical materials and present ideas for evaluation.
• Define annual BU requirements (budget, software, hardware investments).
• Travel up to 30% domestically and possibly internationally.
• Other duties as assigned.
