Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• At least three years of experience in utility services preferred.
• Training opportunities may be provided to support required certifications.
• Texas driver's license required; natural gas qualifications needed for gas work.

Responsibilities

• Keeps water and gas meters in working order.
• Manages daily consumption and water-usage reports; verifies leaks and makes repairs.
• Disconnects and reconnects water and gas services.
• Repairs and replaces residential water and gas equipment as needed.
• Operates vehicles and uses hand tools and computer software.
• Maintains warehouse stock of meters and equipment.
• Locates, sets, and maintains water meter boxes.
• Responds to customer complaints and resolves issues.
• Performs leak testing of residential equipment/utilities.
• Performs monthly service disconnections for nonpayment and NSF accounts.
• Maintains records of work performed.
• Assists with Utility Billing front counter as needed.
• Assists other departments as needed.
