Job summary

The City of Edmonds is seeking a Water Maintenance Worker to install, maintain and repair the water distribution system and related facilities under supervision. This role supports the city’s Public Works & Utilities, serving 40,000+ residents and 138 miles of mains, with tasks including valve work, hydrant service, and water quality checks.

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma or GED and at least six months of relevant experience; CDL within a year, and water distribution

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Six months experience in construction, maintenance, mechanical, underground, plumbing or similar position.

Responsibilities

• Installs, maintains and repairs city water systems and related facilities.
• Operates equipment such as forklift, vactor truck, dump truck, loader and backhoe.
• Tests water and chlorine samples and monitors water quality.
• Reads maps, plans and specifications; maintains records and reports.
