Job summary

The City of Edmonds is seeking a Water Maintenance Worker to install, repair, and upgrade the water distribution system and related facilities. You will operate a range of equipment and collaborate with departments to ensure continuous, safe water delivery to customers.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, six months of related experience or equivalent, and valid driver’s license with specific endorsements.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required; six months related experience or equivalent.
• Experience using hand and power tools.
• Must obtain WA Driver's License within 30 days of moving to WA.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair and maintain water mains, hydrants, valves and meters.
• Operate equipment including forklift, vactor truck and backhoe.
• Shut down valves and reroute water flows during emergencies as needed.
• Read maps, plans and drawings; maintain records and GPS data.
• Perform fire line detection checks and routine maintenance.
