Job summary

City Utilities of Springfield seeks a Water Distribution Technician to install, repair and maintain water mains, valves, hydrants and services under supervision.

You will assist with tapping mains, laying pipe, operating tools, and ensuring safety. Applicants need a high school diploma, six months in water distribution, and the ability to obtain a Missouri CDL Class B with air brakes; OT and on-call duties apply.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent; related technical or trade training preferred.
• Minimum six months of experience in water distribution system construction and maintenance.
• Ability to obtain Missouri CDL, Class B including air brakes within six months.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, maintain, or replace water mains, valves, hydrants, and services.
• Assist in tapping mains and installing water meters; join pipes in trenches.
• Operate hand and power tools for installation/repair and maintain safety PPE.
• Attend training and perform related duties as assigned by management.
