Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus two years' experience in construction or building maintenance.
• Experience in water system construction or installation is desirable.
• Education, experience, and training may be combined per City policy.

Responsibilities

• Installs, services, cleans, and repairs main water lines; completes work reports.
• Installs and replaces meters; prepares meter reading cards; reports on requests.
• Digs manholes; operates a pipe locator; completes reports; provides senior level support.
• Unplugs water service; raises valves; maintains and installs hydrants and service lines.
• Responds to public questions about water shutoffs and meter changes.
• Assists operators in wells, systems, reservoirs; supports trucks, air compressors, tools.
• Maintains yards, fences, irrigation systems, buildings and AC at wells/reservoirs.
• Performs yard and weed control maintenance.
