Job summary

The City of Blue Springs is hiring for a position responsible for general maintenance and repair of the city’s water distribution system. Duties include operating maintenance equipment, responding to after-hours emergency calls, and performing repairs on the infrastructure. Candidates should have a high school diploma, valid Class A CDL or ability to obtain one, and 6 months to 1 year of related experience. Strong knowledge of safety practices and equipment is essential. This position offers on-call response duties 24/7.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent education/training program completion.
• Valid Class A commercial driver’s license (CDL) with endorsements, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
• 6 months to 1 year of experience in a related field or general labor position.

Responsibilities

• Operates equipment used in the maintenance of the City’s Water Distribution system.
• Repairs and maintains assigned equipment.
• Participates in after-work hours emergency response for sewer and water distribution issues.
• May serve as a lead for a crew on specific job sites.
