Job summary

City of Bentonville is seeking a Water Systems Operator to assist in operating and maintaining the City’s water storage and distribution system. You will monitor pressures, water quality, and chlorine residuals while supporting SCADA operations and routine maintenance of pump stations and storage facilities.

Qualifications

• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
• Possess or has the ability to obtain a Class IV Water Distribution Operator License.
• Must possess and maintain a personal telephone for emergency call-outs.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor the water distribution system via SCADA.
• Monitor and regulate water distribution while maintaining compliance with health regulations.
• Maintain water quality, including chlorine residuals and storage turnover.
• Collect water samples for monthly bacteriological monitoring and record results.
• Inspect pumping and storage facilities and perform preventative maintenance.
• Assist customers, engineers, and developers with water distribution information.
• Follow safety procedures and respond to emergencies as needed.
• Work rotating standby and overtime as required.
