The City of Naperville’s Water Utility is seeking a Water Utility Technician to perform a variety of operational, maintenance, repair, and rehabilitation tasks and provide customer service to water and wastewater utility customers in Naperville, IL. The role includes testing water quality, responding to pressure calls, meter work, hydrant and b-box repairs, and AMI system support.

Experienced incumbents may work more independently and provide direction to others.

Formación

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of experience with utility location, construction, or a related field.
• A valid State of Illinois driver’s license.

Responsabilidades

• Provides a high level of customer service to water utility customers by responding to complaints about water quality, water pressure, and problems with valves.
• Repairs, installs, tests, and replaces water meters and enters data into systems.
• Locates and inspects the water system and appurtenances for JULIE system, contractors, and projects.
• Collects and analyzes water samples and performs routine water quality tests such as chlorine.
• Performs hydrant repairs and valve box/ b-box adjustments.
• Maintains records of customer service activities and results.
• Monitors work zones for safety and adheres to safety policies.
