Job summary

The City of Attleboro is seeking two Maintenance Craftsman / Laborer positions in the Water Department. These roles perform unskilled to semi-skilled manual labor in the construction, operation, and maintenance of the City’s water distribution system and related public works operations.

Essential duties include installing and repairing water meters, laying service pipes, and locating leaks, with heavy equipment operation and snow removal support as needed.

Qualifications

• Massachusetts CDL Class B license (required).
• Massachusetts D2 Water Distribution License (must be obtained within 2 years).

Responsibilities

• Perform manual labor for the construction, operation, and maintenance of water systems and related public works.
• Lay and connect service pipes to street mains and water meters.
• Install, repair, and test water meters.
• Locate and repair water leaks; operate water gates and hydrants.
• Support snow and ice removal operations and general duties as assigned.]
