City of Attleboro is seeking a Water Plant Repairman to maintain and repair equipment, vehicles, and facilities at the Water Treatment Plant. Under the Water Superintendent, the successful candidate will ensure reliable operation of pumps, motors, valves, and associated systems for drinking water delivery.

Qualifications include a high school diploma, at least one year of repair experience, and a valid Massachusetts 2B Hoisting License and driver’s license.

Responsabilités

• Maintain and repair machinery and equipment used in drinking water distribution (pumps, piping, valves, motors, filters).
• Lubricate and repair pumps; replace bearings and worn parts.
• Maintain and repair motor vehicles and equipment (gasoline- and diesel-powered engines).
• Perform engine tune-ups and repair brake and electrical systems, clutches, and transmissions.
• Perform minor auto body repairs and related welding.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and replace tires and batteries.
• Maintain and repair buildings and property (carpentry, painting, plumbing, minor electrical work).
• Participate in the City of Attleboro snow and ice control program.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Salary Range: $26.15-$32.62 per hour

Position Summary

The City of Attleboro Water Treatment Plant is seeking a qualified Water Plant Repairman. Under the direction of the Water Superintendent, the successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing equipment, vehicles, and facilities associated with the Water Treatment Plant.

Essential Duties

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Maintain and repair machinery and equipment used in the distribution of drinking water, including pumps, piping, valves, motors, and filters.
• Lubricate and repair pumps; replace bearings and other worn parts and components of specialized equipment.
• Maintain and repair motor vehicles and equipment, including gasoline- and diesel-powered engines and related equipment.
• Perform engine tune-ups and repair brake and electrical systems, clutches, and transmissions.
• Perform minor auto body repairs and related welding.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and replace tires and batteries as needed.
• Maintain and repair buildings and property, including performing carpentry, painting, plumbing, and minor electrical work that does not require a licensed electrician, such as replacing cords and fuses.
• Participate in the City of Attleboro snow and ice control program.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of experience repairing equipment, machinery, and/or motor vehicles.
• Valid Massachusetts 2B Hoisting License.
• Valid driver\'s license.

Physical Requirements

This is a physically demanding position. Candidates must be able to lift up to 100 pounds.
