Job summary

Aqua, an Essential Utilities company, is hiring a Utility Worker I for the Roaring Creek Local Office. You will repair main breaks and service leaks, install new services, and maintain valves, hydrants, and meters, using field tools and our work-order system to document tasks.

The role requires a High School diploma or equivalent, a valid U.S. driver’s license, the ability to obtain a Class A CDL within 120 days, and the DOT medical exam. Pay rate is $27.79 per hour with potential overtime.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license.
• CDL must be attained within 90 days of hire.
• DOT medical exam requirement during hiring.
• Ability to lift 100 lbs.
• Proficiency with computers and basic software.

Responsibilities

• Operates and maintains water distribution system facilities, such as water mains, valves, hydrants, service lines, etc.
• Reads and interprets maps, drawings, and schematics including GIS data.
• Performs field service representative and meter reading work.
• Responds to after-hours calls and scheduled overtime.
• Ensures compliance with EPA and PUC regulations and safety policies.
• Operates and maintains equipment and vehicles used in water system maintenance.
• Documents work in the company’s work order system.
