Job summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Civil Engineer Intern to contribute to water infrastructure projects across multiple locations including Tualatin, OR, Walnut Creek, CA, and Rancho Cordova, CA. You will support design teams, perform basic calculations, and learn the standards and procedures used by our engineering groups.

The internship offers hands-on experience in water/wastewater projects, exposure to multidisciplinary teams, and a pathway to a potential full-time career with a strong engineering

Qualifications

Water/wastewater, hydraulics and fluid mechanics courses preferred.
GPA 3.0 preferred.
Basic knowledge of engineering design principles and design guides/standards in the discipline.
Basic industry knowledge and technology trends.
Basic knowledge of construction and constructability principles.

Responsibilities

Read, understand and apply design guides, standards and policies.
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to support design and construction of water infrastructure.
Perform routine research and develop material/equipment recommendations.
Prepare basic engineering calculations following standard methods.
Assist with project schedules, cost estimates and deliverables for project execution.
Develop understanding of client needs and key drivers.
