Job summary

Pilgrim’s is seeking a Wastewater Supervisor in the United States to oversee water and wastewater treatment, bi-product shipments, and storm water prevention. You will manage daily sampling, prepare reports for EPA/DNR, and liaise with city departments while driving cost-efficient standards.

The role requires leading a team, ensuring safety and compliance, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives in the complex. A CDL/ forklift certification path can be pursued within the first year.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education with courses in water/wastewater, biology, chemistry, or related subject material and 1–3 years of water and wastewater experience, or more than 3 years without post-secondary education.
• Possess, or willing to obtain within one year, a pre-treatment wastewater operator’s license.
• Fork-lift trainer certification or willing to obtain within one year.
• Experience in poultry processing preferred.
• CDL within 6 months of employment acceptable for job role.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the water treatment, wastewater treatment, and offal and feather screen area.
• Supervise operators, including training and development to maximize quality and productivity.
• Manage daily sampling for Phosphorus, TSS, BOD, and FOG for regulatory reporting.
• Compile water, wastewater, and storm water reports and permits to comply with agencies including EPA and DNR.
• Oversee scheduling, movement, and loading of bi-product trailers.
• Assist in environmental audits and the Operational Excellence Program.
